LOS ANGELES – Consumers have filed a class-action lawsuit over allegations the LG G4 and LG V10 smartphones are defective.

Meagan Chamberlain, Edward Pistorio, Laura Lane and Rosalene Mullins filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on March 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against LG Electronics USA Inc. and LG Electronics Mobilecomm USA Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that there is a defect in the LG phones that cause them to crash and reboot interminably, and that the defect is commonly known as the "bootloop defect." The plaintiffs hold LG Electronics USA Inc. and LG Electronics Mobilecomm USA Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly had knowledge of the defective nature of their mobile phones but took no action to address or offer remedy to consumers who bought the phone.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek injunctive and equitable relief, actual damages, restitution, statutory and/or civil penalties, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Daniel C. Girard, Jordan Elias and Simon S. Grille of Girard Gibbs LLP in San Francisco.
