SACRAMENTO – A Sacramento man alleges his global technology company employer failed to pay overtime wages and misclassified him as exempt from overtime protections.
Ivan Perez filed a complaint on behalf of similarly situated employees and the general public on March 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Barco Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he has been employed by the defendant as a customer service engineer/technician since 2015. The plaintiff holds Barco Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime wages to the plaintiff and provide itemized wage statements.
The plaintiff seeks pay all wages to the plaintiff, overtime wages, all legal fees, interest, restitution, damages and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Rebekah L. Bailey of Nichols Kaster PLLP in Minneapolis.
