LOS ANGELES – A Florida consumer has filed a class-action lawsuit against The Honest Co. Inc. over allegations it misrepresented the amount of product in its dish soap bottles.

Chelsea Grey filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on March 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against The Honest Co. Inc. alleging breach of express warranty, fraud, unjust enrichment and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was injured because she received 10 percent less dish soap than what was labeled on the product's bottle. The plaintiff holds The Honest Co. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly labeled its product to contain 26.5 ounces of fluid when it only contained 24 ounces.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, statutory and punitive damages; interest; engage in a corrective advertising campaign; restitution; all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by L. Timothy Fisher and Joel D. Smith of Bursor & Fisher PA in Walnut Creek.
