Doctor alleges Newport Beach man failed to repay loan

Contract 08

LOS ANGELES — A doctor is suing a Newport Beach resident, citing alleged breach of contract and unpaid debt.

Dr. Tina Kokkinis filed a complaint on March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Bruce Harold Boyd and Does 1 through 10, alleging that they failed to pay the plaintiff back for a promissory note.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered monetary damages following an alleged business deal. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff for interest based on their agreement.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general, compensatory, and consequential damages in an amount that exceeds $155,624, interest at the highest rate, punitive and exemplary damage of at least $60,000 and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Anthony Lanza and Brodie H. Smith of Lanza & Smith in Irvine.
