SAN DIEGO – A San Diego individual alleges that his home phone number is registered on the Do Not Call Registry and that he was unlawfully contacted.
Jonathan Sapan filed a complaint on March 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against TTC-Ameridial LLC and Mary Shanley citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, he suffered damages from receiving 13 unwanted calls on his home phone from the defendants soliciting student debt consultancy services. The plaintiff holds TTC-Ameridial LLC and Shanley responsible because the defendants allegedly kept on calling the defendant despite his request to stop calling him.
The plaintiff seeks $500 for each violation, $1,500 for each violation found to have been willful, compensatory damages, injunction, to enjoin the defendants, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Christopher J. Reichman of Prato & Reichman APC in San Diego.
