LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County ambulatory surgery center alleges an insurer has failed to pay for services it provided to patients.
Beverly Oaks Physicians Surgical Center LLC filed a complaint on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Blue Cross of California, doing business as Anthem Blue Cross, and Does 1 through 100 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it provided services to ERISA plan members administered and underwritten by the defendants. The plaintiff holds Blue Cross of California and Does 1 through 100 responsible because the defendants allegedly refused to honor and pay the plaintiff for medical services it provided.
The plaintiff seeks damages, interest and all legal fees. It is represented by Richard D. Williams and Mina Hakakian of Lytton & Williams LLP in Los Angeles.
