LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County business alleges that one of its fabric designs was reproduced without permission.
Fabric Selection Inc. filed a complaint on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Manjeet International Inc., Union Apparel Group LTD, and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its SE41092 fabric design copied without its consent. The plaintiff holds Manjeet International Inc., Union Apparel Group LTD and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sells garments made out of fabrics that bear unauthorized reproductions of the plaintiff's design.
The plaintiff seeks injunction against the defendant, order the destruction of all infringing garments, actual damages, profits, statutory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just.
