SANTA ANA – A Chino Hills woman formerly employed as a call center worker in Brea has filed a class action against a financial institution over allegations of labor code violations.

Cindy R. Castillo filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on March 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Southern Division against Bank of America National Association and Does 1-10 citing the Fair Labor Standards Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her employment with the defendant ended in September 2016. The plaintiff holds Bank of America National Association and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate meal and rest periods, failed to pay overtime and minimum wages and failed provide accurate wage statements.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, unpaid minimum wages, liquidated damages, statutory penalties, restitution, overtime wages, all legal fees, and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by James R. Hawkins and Gregory Mauro of James Hawkins APLC in Irvine.
