TS Patents claims Yahoo used patented technology without a license

Patents 08

SAN FRANCISCO — A California company is suing Yahoo! Inc. and up to 50 employees of the company, citing alleged patent infringement.

TS Patents LLC filed a complaint on March 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against the defendants alleging that they infringed several of his technology patents, namely for its Yahoo! Briefcase online features.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its patents infringed. The plaintiff holds Yahoo responsible because the defendants allegedly continued to use plaintiff's patented technology without a license despite several attempts from the plaintiff to communicate with them.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks permanent injunction against the defendant, compensatory damages, treble damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as this court deems just. The plaintiff is represented by J. James Li and Tony Abdollahi of Lilaw Inc. in Los Altos.
