Orange County man alleged to have defaulted on student loan

LOS ANGELES – An Orange County resident is alleged to have failed to pay a student loan.

United States of America, acting on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on April 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Ruben Solano, also known as Ruben Solono, alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Solano failed to pay the principal amount of his debt including interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $5,583.01 plus interest of $12,112.18 with accruing interest thereafter at 8 percent per annum, civil penalty charges of $6.75 and all legal fees. They are represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
