Chase Bank USA alleged to have called consumer more than 100 times after consent was revoked

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles man alleges a debt collector harassed him with its frequent calls.

Matthew Roth filed a complaint on April 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Chase Bank USA N.A. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant. The plaintiff holds Chase Bank USA NA responsible because the defendant allegedly placed several phone calls to the plaintiff's phone using an automatic telephone dialing system and continued to call him at least 103 times after he instructed it to stop calling him.

The plaintiff seeks statutory damages of $500, statutory damages of $1,500, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Taylor Tieman of Krohn & Moss LTD in Manhattan Beach.
