LOS ANGELES – Distractify is accused of publishing an unauthorized photo and video online.
Jeffrey Werner and Incredible Feature Inc. filed a complaint on May 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Distractify Inc. and Does 1 -10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs are the copyright owners of a photograph of Giant George, the world's tallest dog, and a video of Jackie Samuel, owner of the Snuggery. The plaintiffs hold Distractify Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly copied plaintiff's image and video and posted it on their website without authorization.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek enjoin the defendants, profits, statutory and enhanced damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott Alan Burroughs, Trevor W. Barrett and Justin M. Gomes of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
