Williams Tree Service Inc. alleged to owe more than $80,000 in unpaid contributions

SAN FRANCISCO – A Watsonville employer is alleged to have failed to pay contributions to labor union funds.

Board of trustees of the Laborers Health and Welfare Trust Fund for Northern California; board of trustees of the Laborers Pension Trust Fund for Northern California; et al. filed a complaint on June 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Williams Tree Service Inc. alleging breach of collective bargaining agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege they suffered damages from unpaid and late paid contributions. The plaintiffs holds Williams Tree Service Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly breached their bargaining agreement by failing to pay their monthly benefit contribution on behalf of their employees in April, June and October 2011.

The plaintiffs seek unpaid contribution in the principal amount of $2,249.56 plus interest and liquidated damages for the first audit, $83,557.89 plus interest and liquidated damages for the second audit, liquidated damages and interest on contribution amounting to $1,535.06, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Ronald L. Richman and Susan J. Olson of Bullivant Houser Bailey PC in San Francisco.
