Lockheed Martin employee seeks reinstatement of disability benefits

Insurance 03

SAN FRANCISCO – A Campbell man employed by Lockheed Martin alleges his long-term disability benefits were wrongfully terminated by an insurance company.

Bain Wulff filed a complaint on June 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Life Insurance Co. of North America citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he applied for long-term disability benefits through the defendant, which were denied at first but then approved in 2011 after an appeal. The suit states the benefits were terminated in June 2016.

The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated plaintiff's benefits despite having sufficient medical proof.

The plaintiff seeks pay disability benefits to the plaintiff plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Cassie Springer Ayeni and Claire Kennedy-Wilkins of Springer Ayeni in Oakland.
