FRESNO – A Kern County woman has filed a suit against a Fresno County woman after an alleged attack in Fresno.

Berenice Chavez filed a complaint on May 17 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Leticia Lewis and Does 1-25 alleging assault, battery and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 23, 2016, she was visiting Ron Lewis, defendant's estranged husband, at his Fresno home when defendant Lewis arrived at the house and hit her in the back of her head and face with a can of spray paint and bit her ring finger. The suit states the plaintiff has received a civil harassment and restraining order against Lewis.

The plaintiff holds Lewis and Does 1-25 responsible because the defendant Lewis' acts were allegedly done knowingly, willfully and with malicious intent.

The plaintiff seeks general, punitive and exemplary damages, attorney's fees, costs, interest and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Jeremy D. Swanson and Seth N. O'Dell of Swanson O'Dell APC in Bakersfield.
