FRESNO – A Fresno County couple allege that they had to pay unnecessary taxes and interest because of the negligence of their accountants.
Donald G. Aluisi and Karen Aluisi filed a complaint on June 6 in the Fresno County Superior Court against JBAC Tax & Accountancy Corp., James Jorgensen, Amrit Paul Singh Brar, et al. alleging professional negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs sought accounting services from the defendants regarding a 1031 exchange. They allege the defendant provided incorrect and negligent advice regarding the exchange and as a result, the plaintiffs were forced to pay thousands in unnecessary taxes and interest.
The plaintiffs seek general and special damages, disgorgement of those fees paid to defendants, costs of suit and such other and further relief. They are represented by Michael L. Farley of Farley Law Firm in Visalia.
