SANTA ANA – An Irvine company alleges that it has been damaged by a Miami company's use of an infringing mark.
Entrepreneur Media Inc. filed a complaint on June 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Southern Division against The Entrepreneurs Workshop Inc., Consulting Alliance 2.0 Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging trademark infringement and other counts.
According to the complaint, Entrepreneur Media is the registered owner of the Entrepreneur mark and has used it for almost 40 years for publication of magazines and books.
The plaintiff holds The Entrepreneurs Workshop Inc., Consulting Alliance 2.0 Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used the Entrepreneur Radio mark to promote their goods and services without plaintiff's permission.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an injunction order requiring defendant to cease using the Entrepreneur Radio mark, award for damages, attorney's fees, costs, disbursements and other expenses incurred, prejudgment interest and such other relief as the court deems appropriate. It is represented by Perry J. Viscounty, Jennifer L. Barry and Patrick C. Justman of Latham & Watkins LLP in San Diego.
