LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County man alleges his claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.
David C. Wynn filed a complaint on June 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Sedgwick Claim Management Services Inc., NBCUniversal Media LLC and Does 1 to 10 alleging breach of insurance contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by NBC in Universal City as a technical support analyst and he submitted a claim for disability benefits in 2016. The suit states the benefits were denied on the claim that the medical information he provided did not support his inability to perform his own job.
The plaintiff holds Sedgwick Claim Management Services Inc., NBCUniversal Media LLC and Does 1 to 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly refused to pay plaintiff's benefits despite having sufficient medical proof to support his claim.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks past due and future benefits, compensatory and consequential damages, damages, punitive damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Robert J. McKennon, Joseph S. McMillen and Stephanie L. Talavera of McKennon Law Group in Newport Beach.
