LOS ANGELES – A Bell Gardens consumer alleges a Virginia debt collector harassed him with calls.
Jesse Anthony Ramirez filed a complaint on June 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Navient Solutions LLC alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he informed the defendant in December 2016 to stop calling him and instead to communicate with him via U.S. mail.
The plaintiff holds Navient Solutions LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite his request to stop, used an automatic telephone dialing system and called in an excessive and harassing manner.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, treble damages, actual damages, all legal fees, punitive damages and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Trinette G. Kent of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
