SAN FRANCISCO – A Nevada City man alleges he suffered severe injuries to his right eye when a water filtration system in his home malfunctioned.

Eric Olson filed a complaint on July 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Pentair Inc. alleging negligence, breach of warranty and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 23, he suffered serious physical injuries to his right eye, including a lacerated eyelid and collapsed globe that caused blindness, when the plug from a water filtration system tank struck his eye. The suit states the system was designed and sold by the defendant.

The plaintiff holds Pentair Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the defective nature of their filtration system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general damages, special damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Spencer J. Pahlke of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger in San Francisco.
