SAN FRANCISCO — A Georgia woman has filed a class action lawsuit against The Gap, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.
Julie Hardigree filed a complaint, individually on behalf of all others similarly situated, July 6 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against The Gap Inc., alleging the defendant illegally contacted the plaintiff several times through text message.
According to the complaint, Hardigree she suffered damages from receiving several unwanted text messages from The Gap. The plaintiff alleges The Gap invaded her privacy by sending text messages to her cellular telephone without her consent.
Hardigree seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages, injunctive relief and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Ronald A. Marron, Alexis Wood and Kas Gallucci of Law Offices of Ronald A. Marron in San Diego.
