FRESNO – A woman alleges a medical facility failed to exercise the standard of care, which led to the death of her husband.
Kristi Tolbert filed a complaint on June 21 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Community Regional Medical Center, et al. alleging medical malpractice and wrongful death.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 20, 2016, plaintiff's decedent Stephen Tolbert underwent a partial nephrectomy. The plaintiff alleges that as a result of defendants' negligence, he developed a saddle embolus and died on June 23, 2016, of a bilateral pulmonary embolism.
She alleges she has been deprived of the services, comfort, protection, care and society of her husband.
The plaintiff seeks general damages in a sum in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus interest, costs of suit and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by William L. Brelsford of Poswall, White & Brelsford in Sacramento.
