Government alleges debtor owes more than $7,000

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. government is suing a Los Angeles County man Kenneth Patten, alleging breach of contract and an unpaid debt of more than $7,000.

The United States of America filed a complaint July 10 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Kenneth Patten, alleging he has failed to settle his debt.

According to the complaint, the U.S. suffered monetary damages due to unpaid debt. The plaintiff alleges Patten has failed to pay the principal amount of his debt, plus interest.

The U.S. government seeks the principal amount of $3,023.15, plus interest of $4,179.79 with further interest at 9 percent per annum accruing at 75 cents per day, penalties/administrative charges of $18.50, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorney Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull in Northridge.
