Government alleges student loan recipient owes more than $6,000

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. government is suing a college loan recipient, alleging breach of contract and an unpaid debt of more than $6,000.

The United States of America filed a complaint July 10 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Trenton C. Hill, alleging Hill failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the U.S. has suffered monetary damages due to unpaid debt. The plaintiff alleges Hill has failed to pay the principal amount of more than $4,000 from his debt plus interest.

The U.S. government seeks the principal amount of $775.69 plus interest of $762.40 with further interest at 3.43 percent per annum, accruing at $0.07 per day, principal amount of $1,400, plus interest of $1,205.05 with further interest at 5 percent per annum accruing at 19 cents per day, a principal amount of $2,175.69 , plus interest of $1,967.45, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just.
