U.S. government alleges debtor owes more than $13,000

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. government is suing a Los Angeles County woman, alleging an unpaid debt of more than $13,000.

The United States of America filed a complaint Aug. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Loretta J. Gonzales, alleging she has failed to settle her debt to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the U.S. suffered monetary damages due to an unpaid debt. The plaintiff alleges Gonzales has failed to pay the principal amount of her debt, plus interest.

The government seeks the principal amount of $4,272.66, plus interest of $9,472.45, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorney Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
