Californian accuses Texas company of phone privacy violations

OAKLAND — A California man has filed a class action lawsuit against a Texas company, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Sidney Naiman filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Aug. 18 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Oakland Division against Tranzvia LLC of Plano, Texas, alleging the defendant illegally called the plaintiff several times in an attempt to sell its products, violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act..

According to the complaint, on June 8, Naiman suffered damages from receiving several automated calls. The plaintiff alleges Tranzvia illegally used a pre-recorded voice to call Naiman despite his request for the defendant to stop calling.

Naiman seeks trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant, damages, $500 for every illegal call, $1,500 in treble damages, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Edward A. Broderick and Anthony I. Paronich of Broderick & Paronich PC in Boston, and by Matthew P. McCue of The Law Office of Matthew P. McCue in Natick, Massachusetts.
