Couple accuses Ford of warranty breach

SACRAMENTO — A Kern County couple is suing Ford, alleging breach of warranty and unfair competition.

Roger McEntee and Kymberley McEntee of Ridgecrest, California, filed a complaint Aug. 21, in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Ford Motor Company, and Does 1 through 75, alleging they manufactured and sold a 2012 Ford Focus to the plaintiffs that was equipped with a defective powertrain.

According to the complaint, the McEntees suffered damages from purchasing a Ford Focus in August 2012 from Antelope Valley Ford in Lancaster, California, that had a defective powertrain. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to make necessary repairs to the their vehicle despite the car being covered by the warranty period.

The McEntees seek trial by jury, damages, rescission, civil penalty, incidental and consequential damages, injunctive relief, interest, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Hallen D. Rosner and Jeffrey L. Le Pere of Rosner, Barry & Babbitt LLP in San Diego.
