Movie production company accused of copyright infringement

Copyright 03

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County business is suing a Connecticut movie production company, alleging copyright infringement.

Sleeping Giant Films LLC, Matt Geller, and David Stern filed a complaint Aug. 28 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against See You Soon Project LLC, See You Soon Productions, LLC, and Evgenia Tanaeva, alleging the defendants were wrong to allege the plaintiffs had no copyright contributions to the motion picture "See You Soon."

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs suffered damages to their business as the result of not being allowed to share revenues from the movie. The plaintiffs allege the defendants wrongfully deny that the plaintiffs are co-owners of the work.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, declare the plaintiffs are co-owners of the copyright and entitled to fair share of revenues from "See You Soon," an accounting of all revenues earned, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Allen B. Grodsky and John Metzidis-Drennan of Grodsky & Olecki LLP in Santa Monica.
