Gem design business accuses jewelry company of copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles gem design business is suing California competitors, alleging copyright infringement.

L.A. Gem & Jewelry Design Inc. filed a complaint Sept. 5 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against West Coast Jewelry Inc., JF Collections Inc., Ari Y. Mahller, Tanya Mahller, Joel Ford and Does 1-10, alleging the defendants illegally copied and reproduced the plaintiff's jewelry design.

According to the complaint, L.A. Gem & Jewelry Design suffered damages from having its moon pendant design copied. The plaintiff alleges the defendants illegally sells products that were copied from L.A Gem's moon pendant design.

L.A. Gem & Jewelry Design seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, damages, profits, statutory damages, interest, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorney Milord A. Keshishian of MIlord & Associates PC in Los Angeles.
