Nurse alleges health care staffing business failed to pay proper wages

LOS ANGELES — A Mississippi nurse has filed a class action lawsuit against health care employers, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

E. Howard Musgrove filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of others similarly situated, Sept. 6 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Jackson Nurse Professionals LLC, Jackson Healthcare Staffing LLC, and Does 1 to 10 ,alleging they failed to pay fair wages, violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Musgrove worked as a travel nurse between 2015 and 2017 in Arroyo Grande, California, for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime wages. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay an overtime premium of at least time and half to Musgrove for hours worked more than 40 per week as required by FLSA.

Musgrove seeks trial by jury, overtime wages, interest, all legal fees, restitution, statutory wages and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Matthew B. Hayes and Kye D. Pawlenko of Hayes Pawlenko LLP in Pasadena.
