LOS ANGELES — A Nevada man is suing a California financial business, alleging invasion of privacy and violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Roger Dorland of Clark County, Nevada, filed a complaint Sept. 13 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Majestic Lake Financial Inc. alleging the defendant illegally called the plaintiff several times in an attempt to collect an alleged debt, violating the Telephone Consumer Privacy Act.

According to the complaint, in October 2016, Dorland suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from Majectic Lake. The plaintiff alleges Majestic Lake Financial kept calling Dorland despite his requests to stop.

Dorland seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages for each violation, $1,500 treble damages, actual and punitive damages, interest, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Stuart Price of Price Law Group, APC in Encino.
