Medical group worker alleges employer failed to pay overtime

SAN FRANCISCO — A California woman filed a class action lawsuit against an Oakland medical group, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

Debra Wolf filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all other similarly situated individuals, Sept. 14 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against The Permanente Medical Group Inc., alleging the employer failed to pay fair wages, violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Wolf worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime wages as required by FLSA. 

Wolf seeks trial by jury, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, unpaid minimum wages, statutory and civil penalties, disgorgement and restitution, actual damages, interest, legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Jahan C. Sagafi of Outten & Golden LLP in San Francisco and by Kevin Stoops of Sommers Schwartz PC in Southfield, Michigan.
