FRESNO – A pedestrian alleges she was attacked and injured by a dog that was kept in a backyard without any restraint.
April Stillwell filed a complaint on July 18 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Dorla Richards and Kristi Richards, co-trustees of the Dorla Richards Trust, et al. alleging strict liability, negligence and premises liability.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 6, 2017, she was lawfully walking in front of the defendants' premises at 930 N. Lafayette Ave., Fresno when a German shepherd viciously attacked and bit her. The plaintiff holds Dorla Richards and Kristi Richards, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly restrain or confine the dog to prevent it from charging people and cause them injuries.
