Orrick Herrington issued the following announcement on August 06.
Congratulations to Pat Gillette, Orrick alum and current JAMS mediator, on being honored with the ABA Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award. Pat received the award, given annually by the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession, on Sunday, August 5, at the ABA Annual Meeting.
Established in 1991, the Award honors outstanding women lawyers who have achieved professional excellence in their area of specialty and have actively paved the way to success for others. It is named for Margaret Brent, the first woman lawyer in America.
A former partner in our Employment Law Group, Pat is the co-founder of the Opt-In Project, a nationwide initiative focused on changing the structure of law firms to increase the retention and advancement of women in the workplace. She serves on Orrick’s Women’s Leadership Board, a group of senior executives from leading companies and others who advise the firm on practices to advance women in our firm. She also has been a member of the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession, the ABA's Gender Equity Task Force and co-chair of the Bar Association of San Francisco's No Glass Ceiling Initiative.
