Pillar Insurance Partners alleged to owe former salesperson more than $100,000 in wages

FRESNO – A Fresno County man alleges his former employer owes him more than $100,000 in unpaid wages.

Howard Growdon filed a complaint on Sept. 26 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Pillar Insurance Partners LLC, et al. citing California labor codes.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he work for defendants for a period of eight months without getting paid any money. He alleges the defendants owe him his full and final wages for combined total of more than $100,000. 

The plaintiff holds Pillar Insurance Partners LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly declined to pay his wages by claiming falsely that he was both an independent contractor and that he is only entitled to commission based-pay compensation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks consequential damages of no less than $100,000, punitive damages, liquidated and double damages, unpaid wages for an amount according to proof, with penalties and such other appropriate relief. He is represented by Walter W. Whelan, Brian D. Whelan and Lucas C. Whelan of Whelan Law Group in Fresno.
