FRESNO – A pedestrian is seeking damages from the city of Fresno and a bus driver after he was struck in a crosswalk by a bus.

Martin Lopez filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Jose Armando Lopez, the city of Fresno and Does 1 through 250 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 14, 2017, he was struck by defendants' bus while walking on the crosswalk of North Blackstone Avenue in its vicinity with Santa Ana Avenue. He alleges he sustained serious and permanent injuries and incurred medical costs and expenses as well as loss of earnings.

The plaintiff holds Lopez, the city of Fresno and Does 1 through 250 responsible because defendant Lopez negligently failed to stop the bus in time, despite having the opportunity to do so.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general and special damages, interest, costs and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Arash H. Zabetian of Martinian & Associates Inc. in Los Angeles and Haytham Faraj of The Law Offices of Haytham Faraj PLLC in Chicago, Illinois.
