GREENBERG & TRAURIG: Greenberg Traurig’s Dan Black Named to Variety500 for Second Consecutive Year

Greenberg Traurig LLP issued the following announcement on Oct. 30.

Daniel H. Black, Vice Chair of Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Global Entertainment & Media Practice and Chairman of the West Coast Entertainment & Media Practice, has been recognized for the second consecutive year in Variety500, an annual list of the 500 global leaders shaping the $2 trillion entertainment industry. This list made its debut in 2017.

Black, a shareholder based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, is widely recognized for his ability to easily navigate on the cutting edge of media as well as the traditional entertainment business. Black has extensive experience in the television, motion picture, and digital media arenas, having practiced law both in the major studio and law firm settings. He has served as lead counsel on transactions with the major motion picture studios and television networks, in addition to major Internet content producing, licensing and advertising entities. He represents C-Suite and other high-level entertainment and media executives in the negotiation of their employment agreements. In addition, his clients include production and distribution, Internet, video game, and augmented reality companies as well as advertising agencies, showrunners and producers, along with on-air television and sports personalities. Black also has substantial experience representing clients based outside of Los Angeles in their entertainment industry-related matters.

Updated annually, the Variety500 features an unranked list of the entertainment industry’s top 500 business leaders. Variety’s editorial board conducts extensive research in compiling the searchable list, which features moguls, representatives, financiers, executives, and producers spanning film, television, music, live entertainment, gaming, and technology.
