Littler Mendelson issued the following announcement on Feb. 7.
Andrea R. Ortega, an attorney at Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been selected as an academy fellow by the National Employment Law Council (NELC). The organization is committed to enriching the minority bar among management-side employment lawyers.
“We are proud of Andrea’s selection as a 2019 NELC fellow,” said Constance Norton, San Francisco office managing shareholder. “The NELC Academy provides valuable mentoring and educational skills for up and coming attorneys. At Littler, we are committed to supporting our associates with their professional goals and look forward to Andrea’s contribution to the program.”
In her practice, Ortega represents and advises employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters. Prior to joining Littler, she served as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Labor with the Regional Solicitor’s Office in San Francisco. During law school, Ortega was selected to participate in the highly competitive Puget Sound Area Minority Fellowship Program, through which she was given the opportunity to serve as a summer associate with a Seattle area law firm.
Ortega earned her J.D. from the University of California-Berkeley School of Law and her B.A. from Brandeis University.
