Holland & Knight issued the following announcement on March 14.
Holland & Knight Partner Chelsea Maclean has been named to the San Francisco Business Times 2019 "40 Under 40" list. Now in its eighth year, the San Francisco Business Times "40 Under 40" list highlights the Bay Area's best and brightest young business and community leaders. Ms. Maclean is the only practicing lawyer to be included on this year's list.
Ms. Maclean is a land use and environmental attorney working on statewide efforts to produce new housing. She currently represents developers seeking more than 8,000 residential units in counties and cities statewide. She was recently retained by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority to provide land use counsel in connection with the development of VTA's portfolio of more than 20 transit oriented properties in Northern California.
Ms. Maclean has participated in and now leads programs to enhance the advancement of women in legal careers. She is an alumnus of Holland & Knight's award-winning Rising Stars program, which helps prepare the firm's women lawyers for leadership opportunities, elevate their profiles within the legal profession and community and increase their success in business development. Ms. Maclean now serves as the chair for the Holland & Knight's Women's Initiative in San Francisco.
Outside of the office, Ms. Maclean currently serves on the Urban Land Institute San Francisco board and is the co-chair of its Bay Area Programs Committee, which provides high-quality educational programs and opportunities for relationship building among the real estate organization's approximately 2,400 Bay Area members. In her role as Bay Area Programs Committee co-chair, she is responsible for overseeing more than 60 programs annually.
"I have had the pleasure of working with Chelsea since she graduated from UC Hastings and I am immensely proud of her impeccable work ethic, leadership abilities and professional success," said Tamsen Plume, executive partner of Holland & Knight's San Francisco office. "She is truly deserving of this honor."
"I am honored to be included on this list of leaders in a region as influential as the Bay Area and grateful for the support I've received at Holland & Knight, which has helped me focus my practice and grow my career," said Ms. Maclean. "I am excited to continue to contribute to the Bay Area land use and real estate community during a transformational time."
