McGuireWoods LLP issued the following announcement on Dec. 5.
McGuireWoods once again ranked among the elite law firms for client service, with the firm among the “Best of the Best” for activities most important to corporate counsel in BTI Consulting’s 2020 “Client Service A-Team” report.
It marks the 14th time McGuireWoods has ranked among the top 30 in BTI’s annual survey of law firm performance — the gold standard for measuring client service excellence. The report is based on feedback from top legal decision makers at companies with revenue of $1 billion or more.
In addition, McGuireWoods was one of only six firms to earn a top rating for “client investment,” which BTI described as activities that “provide the highest levels of differentiation for law firms.” They include understanding clients’ businesses, client focus, providing value for the dollar and commitment to help.
“Clients tell BTI the firm is willing to make its attorneys available 24/7 and puts clients’ needs front and center,” BTI wrote. “McGuireWoods’ level of responsiveness and willingness to put the client first identify them as a client service giant.”
BTI added: “Clients also recognize McGuireWoods as an innovative thinker, willing to think outside the box, to stay ahead of changes in their industry. The firm’s deep industry and business understanding are strong drivers behind their client service leadership, topped off by a team approach.”
In interviews with BTI, clients lauded McGuireWoods for its commitment to providing superior service.
“We are incentivized to use them early in the process,” one client said. “They truly understand our business and walk hand in hand with us. They also leverage their people to meet our legal needs in a variety of locations without any internal conflicts.”
McGuireWoods Managing Partner J. Tracy Walker IV said the recognition from BTI is a reflection of the firm’s intense focus on client service excellence.
“We know clients count on us to understand their business goals and assemble talented teams to help them achieve their objectives,” Walker said. “It is rewarding to know our clients appreciate our lawyers’ dedication.”
BTI’s findings are based on in-depth interviews with more than 350 top legal decision makers at Fortune 1,000 companies. The top-rated firms comprise the “Client Service 30.”
