Dinsmore & Shohl LLP issued the following announcement on May 10.

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has welcomed partner of counsel David Marion as the newest member of the firm’s national Corporate department and Mergers & Acquisitions practice group. He will practice out of Dinsmore’s growing San Diego office.

He joins from Nossaman LLP, and is the second attorney to come to Dinsmore in San Diego in as many months, following commercial litigation associate Meredith Montrose earlier this spring.

“Dinsmore’s outstanding reputation, national platform and growing corporate department are a great fit for me and my client relationships,” Marion said. “I am thrilled to join Dinsmore and look forward to all the benefits the firm’s resources will provide to my contacts.”

Marion has practiced for over 20 years, representing corporations, LLCs and partnerships with formation, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, intellectual property licensing and general corporate and contract matters. His clients span a diverse array of industries, including food and beverage, technology, manufacturing, sports, consumer products and telecommunications. He previously clerked for a former special counsel to the president of the United States and was an associate to a former assistant United States attorney general.

Dinsmore San Diego Office Managing Partner Joe Leventhal is looking forward to how Marion’s arrival will impact the future of the office and Dinsmore’s Corporate department.

“We’re excited to have David join us, which helps us build on our capabilities to serve California and San Diego businesses,” he said. “David’s diverse experience will be an asset to the firm’s clients.”

Marion also found Dinsmore’s community- and family-based culture a fit with his values. The firm prioritizes community service in all of its cities across the country—a priority for Marion, who formerly served on the board of directors for the San Diego Chapter of After School All Stars.

Marion earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. He is licensed to practice in California, Ohio, Florida and Washington, D.C.
