SAN FRANCISCO (Legal Newsline) - The Western Addition Senior Center at 1390 Turk St. in San Francisco was brought to court after a volunteer allegedly killed an elderly woman by pushing her to the floor.

The complaint was filed on April 16 in the San Francisco County Superior Court by plaintiffs Jamie Kang, Sung Min Choi and Sung Ung Kang. They are the adult children of decedent Young Kang.

The senior center is owned and operated by Bayview Hunters Point Multipurpose Senior Services Inc, also named as a defendant.

According to the complaint, decedent Kang visited the senior center on December 7, 2019, to eat lunch. While there, Kang allegedly got into an argument with a center volunteer, defendant Joyce Cameron.

Kang was transported by ambulance to the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where she died.

The defendants are charged with breach of basic standard of care, negligence, wrongful death, battery, physical elder abuse and survivorship.
