Redwood City accused of disability discrimination

State Court
Courtgavel0321

REDWOOD CITY - Redwood City was brought to court for allegedly violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other discrimination charges.

The complaint was filed on April 13 by plaintiff Phil Eliason. Eliason worked for the defendant starting in 2004 as a consumer service tech (CST) until he was terminated on January 28, 2018.

Eliason says he was wrongfully terminated after the city reclassified several job descriptions and was told he would not be able to fit his new description due to his disability from a back injury.

The defendant is charged with disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, harassment, retaliation and failure to prevent all of the above.

The plaintiff is represented by the Law Offices of Moira C. McQuaid.
