It’s been almost 10 years since “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was appealed and the landscape of LGBTQ+ rights is still in flux. Join us for a timely discussion with Deputy Adjutant General, Major General Matthew Beevers of the California National Guard, as we discuss the history of transgender rights in the military and the fundamental inequities of DoD’s recently overturned transgender policy. MG Beevers will also discuss current inclusion efforts for the California National Guard and what the future could hold for LGBTQ+ troops in the military.
Deputy Adjutant General, Major General Matthew Beevers is an advocate and defender for transgender troops serving in the military. Over the past year, RSVets’ partner chair Jesse Miller has worked directly for MG Beevers while serving on active duty in the California National Guard leading pandemic related humanitarian relief operations, and saw firsthand the efforts being made for diversity, equity and inclusion.
