Man sues after thumb is amputated by circular saw

Federal Court

SACRAMENTO - Russell Latta filed a federal complaint on October 26 in the Eastern District of California against Ryobi Technologies, Inc, One World Technologies, Inc. d/b/a Techtronic Industries Power Equipment and Home Depot U.S.A. for negligence, strict product liability and breach of implied warranty of merchantability.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 27, 2019, Latta alleges that his thumb was amputated by a defective and unreasonably dangerous circular saw sold by Ryobi, One World Technologies, Inc. and Home Depot.

Latta alleges that Ryobi and One World Technologies, Inc. decided to forgo safer alternative designs for their own economic benefit and he is only one of the latest victims of this decision. He says he is taking it upon himself to expose to the general public the companies' unsafe and dangerous circular saws.

Latta is represented by David Cienfuegos.
