Jones Day issued the following announcement on Nov. 15.

The global firm Jones Day announces that Aaron Agenbroad has been elected a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. The College's installation of Fellows was held November 13, 2021, in Los Angeles.

Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by a labor and employment lawyer's colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication, and excellence. The College is a prestigious national organization whose membership is limited to attorneys who demonstrate the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards based on the College's principles of civility and professionalism.

"As lead negotiator in collective bargaining agreements for some of the country's largest media and industrial employers, Aaron is recognized as one of the top labor lawyers in the country, and we congratulate him on his admission into the College," said Elizabeth McRee, co-chair of Jones Day's global Labor & Employment Practice. "His skills and insights drive creative strategies in resolving complex labor and employment matters."

"Aaron’s dynamic leadership coupled with the fact that we now have more than a dozen active Fellows in our practice, enhances our formidable capabilities around the world," noted Matthew Lampe, co-chair of the Labor & Employment Practice. "The College's recognition is yet another affirmation of Aaron's breadth of ability and perspective that are the hallmarks of his distinguished career, and we are gratified by the College's recognition of his dedication to the profession.

"This prestigious award further illustrates why clients trust Aaron with their most important labor and employment matters throughout the United States, from counseling through trial. He aggressively represents clients in high-stakes matters while demonstrating professionalism and the highest integrity," said David Kiernan, Partner-in-Charge of the Firm's Northern California Region and head of litigation for the San Francisco Office.

Mr. Agenbroad focuses his practice on employment litigation and strategic labor advice. In addition to serving as Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's San Francisco Office, he is a go-to lead lawyer for clients, guiding them through their most significant challenges across both employment litigation and traditional labor matters. Examples of his recent client successes include: serving as lead negotiator for a California hospital in collective bargaining negotiations with the California Nurses Association over an initial contract; resolving a series of class action cases for a major retailer that had alleged myriad wage and hour violations; advising a web and app-based company on legal challenges regarding independent contractor status and other related issues involving its business model; reaching a resolution for a food safety company in dozens of employment arbitrations alleging misclassification and other wage and hour violations after trying multiple cases to decision; and serving as principal outside counsel for a publishing company and its subsidiary publications regarding a range of traditional labor issues.
