Greenberg Traurig LLP issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.
David S. Bloch, shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, will speak at Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) Understanding the IP License 2021 course Dec. 10.
Bloch’s section, “Regulatory and Government Issues in IP Licensing,” will cover licensing intellectual property (IP) from the government, including required clauses, enforcement, march-in rights, and traps for the unwary, as well as licensing IP to the government, including marking, monitory, minimum rights, open-source issues, and remedies for infringement. The section will also cover the impact of government preferences on licensing, including domestic manufacture, offshore R&D, and open-source requirements at the state and federal levels. He has presented on this topic at PLI since 2009.
The two-day in-person and virtual PLI course will give a practical and wide-ranging view of licensing basics for those engaged in IP law and interested in how to license and protect various forms of IP.
Bloch, based in the firm’s San Francisco office, litigates intellectual property cases. A prolific writer and frequent public speaker (more than 100 invited lectures), Bloch is the co-author of IP and Technology in Government Contracts (now in its sixth edition) and more than 50 articles on IP-related issues.
