SAN FRANCISCO - A wife claims her husband suffered elder abuse and negligence while residing in an elder care home, directly causing his death.
Jane Louie Lampe, as successor-in-interest to the estate of Victor Lampe by and through her Guardian ad Litem Sandra Tong, filed a lawsuit on Jan. 19 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Alma Via of San Francisco, Elder Care Alliance of SF, Elder Care Alliance and Does 1-100 for elder abuse, negligence, wrongful death and survivorship.
According to the lawsuit, Lampe is the surviving spouse of Victor Lampe who passed away on March 31, 2021, while residing in Elder Care Alliance. Victor Lampe had multiple medical diagnoses, was at risk for falls, had limited mobility, needed assistance with activities of daily living and needed transfers and mobility assistance, the suit says.
Lampe allegedly suffered multiple falls while at the facility despite specialized training given to staff, was not provided proper bathing or grooming and was not prevented from developing bedsores. Jane Louis Lampe claims that while her husband was in the care of the facility, he was neglected and abused which is the direct reasoning for his death.
Lampe seeks a judgment for general and special damages, cost of suit, punitive damages, pre-death pain and suffering, pre-judgment interest and attorney's fees. Lampe is represented by Kathryn A. Stebner.
