Morgan Lewis has been named a 2022 Inclusion Champion by Diversity Lab, as part of the incubator’s 2022 Inclusion Blueprint. Only eight firms out of 240 met the requirements for equity across four key indicators: 1) diversity representation, 2) year-over-year diversity progress, (3) diversity representation tracking, and (4) meaningful inclusion practices and activities. Morgan Lewis’s intellectual property practice also is highlighted as a practice group Inclusion Champion.
“Creating an inclusive environment takes commitment from everyone. In order for all voices to be heard and respected, it is critical to have good listeners, advocates, and allies at all levels of the firm,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “We are proud to be recognized by Diversity Lab for our efforts to build a culture where we can learn from each other.”
In addition to showing a commitment to improving diversity representation overall, the Inclusion Champions also had to show specific actions to increase opportunities for several underrepresented populations, including women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities.
At Morgan Lewis, we believe that a commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I) is vital to our true success as a firm. We are dedicated to D&I not only because it is the right thing to do, but because it is integral to how we do business and succeed for clients. It influences how we serve clients, collaborate with colleagues, and recruit, retain, and promote talented lawyers and professional staff, as well as how we engage the global communities where we live and work.
