Littler Expands Trade Secrets Practice with Addition of Shareholder Walter C. Pfeffer in San Francisco

Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Walter C. Pfeffer as a shareholder in its San Francisco office. Pfeffer, who joins the firm’s Unfair Competition and Trade Secrets practice group, was previously a partner with Singer Cashman LLP. His addition marks the ninth attorney to join the firm at the shareholder level since early July, reinforcing Littler’s continued growth trajectory.

“Walt is a trusted advisor and accomplished litigator,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “With a demonstrated ability to counsel clients through each aspect of the litigation process and manage the intricacies of sensitive company trade secret cases, Walt’s addition will bring great value to our clients.”

Pfeffer has extensive experience litigating cases involving trade secrets, trademarks and complex business disputes. His work involves managing all aspects of litigation from the pleadings through trial. In addition to handling active litigation, Pfeffer counsels his clients on pre-litigation negotiations and strategic business decisions.

“Our clients in California and across the country are looking not only for a capable litigator, but also a business partner who can see the full picture and help them make the best decisions for their companies,” said Constance Norton, Littler’s San Francisco office managing shareholder. “Having known Walt and his strong reputation in the industry for many years, I know first-hand that he is that type of lawyer. We look forward to providing him a platform where his insights will help even more clients manage litigation over their proprietary rights and support their business and legal strategies.”

Pfeffer has represented companies in a wide range of industries, including banking, retail, construction, food, electronics and technology. With a particular skillset in eDiscovery, he has achieved multiple pre-discovery dismissals and managed several large eDiscovery teams.

“The opportunity to join such a deeply talented and forward-looking organization does not come around often,” Pfeffer said. “I’ve long respected Littler’s approach to client service and its ability to counsel employers on the full range of complex issues they face in operating a workplace today. I look forward to collaborating with my new top-notch colleagues at Littler in counseling clients on the protection of their trade secrets and proprietary information, as well as leveraging the firm’s acclaimed eDiscovery attorneys and technology solutions to best serve our clients.”

Pfeffer received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law and his B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
